Chapter 19 in Mentoring, 2004, pp 163-187 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter will introduce the mentor and mentee to the first steps to be taken to build a successful mentoring relationship. Taking time in the early stages will lead to a far more satisfying experience and understanding the roles and responsibilities of the respective parties will ensure conflict does not arise between the mentor and mentee. By studying the models of the roles of a mentor, both mentors and mentees will be able to develop more realistic expectations of the mentoring relationship.
