Issues Impacting on Mentors and Mentees

Jane Cranwell-Ward, Patricia Bossons and Sue Gover

Chapter 21 in Mentoring, 2004, pp 209-217 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Poe (2002) quoted Larry Ambrose as saying: ‘a bad mentoring relationship is worse than no relationship at all’. A negative relationship can affect morale, stress levels and even turnover rates. Those who have a bad experience with mentoring are often reluctant to take part in another relationship.
