A chapter in The People Business, 2005, pp 71-72 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In many parts of Asia (India, China) there is a long tradition of the family business. All members of the family are expected to work in the business which they know, one day, will become theirs. They are very common. Perhaps 80% of the world’s businesses are family firms. Certainly only just under half of the Fortune 500 companies are family owned and controlled.
