Markets, Madness and a Middle: Way
Geoffrey Harcourt
Chapter 16 in Selected Essays on Economic Policy, 2001, pp 232-246 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This essay is based on the Second Donald Horne Address which I gave in Melbourne in February 1992, just before the Australian Prime Minister ‘insulted’ the Queen, declared Australia a potential Republic, and did a U-turn on economic policy. I leave it to others to discern the nature of cause and effect.
