Change management

David E. Hawkins

Chapter Chapter 21 in The Bending Moment, 2005, pp 186-194 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In recent years, the focus on change has been reflective of the marketplace and the political and economic changes that influence that market. Technology changes have also created new dynamics which have in many cases forced the traditional organization to rethink its business model and strategic business operations. Yet while there have been many change programmes promoted and initiatives created there still remains an interesting gulf between the concept of change management and change control. This conflict is perhaps part of the dilemma that faces both individuals within organizations and the leadership that recognizes the need for change but frequently fails to deliver on the promise of one scheme or another.
