Chapter 7 in Korean Automotive Foreign Direct Investment in Europe, 2003, pp 156-193 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The questionnaire consists of three parts according to the theme of this study (Table 7.1).1 The effects of economic integration on the Korean FDI and industrial location in Europe are simplified into negative and positive prospects for the Korean automobile industry. Decreased trade volume resulting from protectionist measures and trade diversion, and increased opportunities based on the dynamics of internal market mechanism are largely categorised as determinants for FDI. Industrial location decisions are related to factors which might affect the process. In particular, the CEECs and their potential as candidates for EU membership are considered as a central variable for the industrial location of the Korean VMs in Europe.
