Chapter 15 in The Limits of Business Development and Economic Growth, 2004, pp 169-178 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract On the 21st of April 1996 I was on a plane from Paris to Copenhagen when I read the first chapter of a book called When Corporations Rule the World by Daniel C. Korten.26 I remember the date, because it is my birthday and I remember the place because after having read the first chapter I realized that there is a very simple and somehow ‘undiscovered’ solution to the dilemma posed by Korten. The same solution can be used to drive economic development in the future and this is the reason why I bring it up in the context of this book.
