A chapter in Outsourcing of R&D in the Pharmaceutical Industry, 2004, pp 1-4 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract During the past century, the pharmaceutical industry has experienced a series of dramatic changes as a result of developments in science and technology, which have spawned new opportunities for innovation. Of these transformations, the most recent to have swept the industry is what has now come to be known as the biotechnology revolution. This has served to transform the possibilities and capabilities of the traditional pharmaceutical company, and its research and development environment.
