Chapter 4 in Money, Trust, and Banking, 2005, pp 22-26 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides a synthesis of the reflections in the preceding chapters on monetary and banking theory. The goal is to arrive at an analytical framework for developing an integrated theory of money and banking based upon the problem of trust in exchange. This concept will be implemented in later chapters by developing and analyzing formal models.
