Chapter Chapter 10 in The Inner Warrior, 2004, pp 107-117 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Management meetings at a telecommunications company were populated by the following people: Keith Chandler, the operations director, who used silences and sarcastic retorts to intimidate and get his own way. He is frequently in conflict with Julian Burford, the quality manager, who is normally collaborative but will scrap with Keith if he needs to. Daniel Ward, the MD, would like to be a more effective leader — unfortunately he feels threatened by Keith and gets pleasure from seeing Julian stand up to him. Bob Jennings, the HR director, is placating and compassionate. June Walsh, the head of engineering, is usually silent but sometimes voices agreement with Keith, a fellow engineer. Mario DeCosta, the finance director, maintains as low a profile as possible.
