Chapter 16 in Microeconomic Reform in Britain, 2004, pp 345-361 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter sets out the Government’s framework being employed for improving public service performance; including a focus on outcomes, constrained discretion by service providers and improved governance of public services. It shows how the framework has underpinned the policies towards the key public services and gives examples to demonstrate a range of reforms in public services.
