Abstract: Abstract This chapter sets out the main determinants of economic growth and describes the historic productivity gap between the UK and other countries. It then explores the underlying reasons for this productivity gap and describes the Government’s approach to reducing it. The chapter ends by setting out the ‘five drivers’ of productivity.
