Abstract:
Abstract A dark cloud hangs over Malaysia in the form of the former Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar was fired from these positions in September 1998. He was then charged with sodomy and abuse of power and jailed for nine and six years respectively. The sodomy charges were overturned on appeal in 2004 and Anwar was released.
