C. Marshall Hattersley

Chapter 14 in The Origins of Universal Grants, 1960, pp 141-148 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Charles Marshall Hattersley was born in Swinton, Yorkshire on 2 November 1892. After reading Law at Cambridge University, he worked in his father’s firm as a solicitor. Influenced mainly by the writings of Major Douglas, Hattersley publicised the Social Credit theory and became involved in practical attempts to secure its realisation. In the early 1950s, he visited Alberta, Canada, where Social Credit principles received an enthusiastic response. Hattersley died there in December 1952.
