Abstract: Abstract Lady Juliet Rhys Williams was born in 1898. She was a Liberal Party activist and played a prominent role in many areas of public life. She started her political career as private secretary to the Director of Training and Staff Duties at the Admiralty in 1918 and subsequently held a wide variety of posts. In the 1930s, she was closely involved in medical welfare, but she also developed a keen interest in economics, participating in various study groups including the Economic Research Council. As a member of the Liberal Party, she contested Pontypridd (1938) and held the post of Honorary Secretary of the Women’s Liberal Federation. She died in 1964.
