Abstract: Abstract There are several reasons for publishing a selection of Luigi Einaudi’s works in English. The first is the contemporary relevance of many of his ideas, from European federalism to fiscal policy. The second is the very limited availability of Einaudi’s writings in languages other than Italian, which prevents his contribution to economics and economic history from being fully appreciated in the English-speaking world.
