Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with proposals for an improvement of the pension systems, and seeks to devise some sort of alternative pension systems.1 The first and main objective is to consider improvements of the present public pension systems and to explore the possibilities of expanding them to cover new situations and needs. Nevertheless, since private systems are being developed and expanded, it is worthwhile to discuss the ways in which it may prove possible to defend and improve the interests of pensioners and other stakeholders where private systems are developed.
