Chapter 5 in Mad Technology, 2005, pp 87-101 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In Chapter 4, we empirically identified the effects of external shocks on policy making in the Korean NIS when faced by advancing mad technologies. We called for the introduction of long-term investment plans in fundamental and traditional sciences in order to combat the negative effects of mad technologies. In this chapter, we will discuss how big chaebol groups and their PIS are fighting the encroachment of mad technologies in their traditional markets.
