Abstract: Abstract In the 1960s when today’s explosion of high technology first began, we were wowed by the “ape” scene in the classic movie, 2001: Space Odyssey. The scene dramatically captures the fundamental power of technology to drive human progress, a power we are rediscovering daily. It is one of the great icons of the Information Age.
