Industrial Cluster Trajectories and Opportunities for Endogenous Upgrading in Developing Countries
Peter Knorringa
Chapter 10 in High Technology, Productivity and Networks, 2008, pp 193-208 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter discusses various trajectories of industrial clusters in developing countries, in combination with an analysis of how different trajectories and different types of inclusion in broader value chains shape opportunities for endogenous upgrading. Therefore, this chapter focuses on the third strategic line — on clustering and networking — of the systemic approach to SME development of this volume.
