Asia’s Nuclear Future
Michael Backman
Chapter 7 in Asia Future Shock, 2008, pp 50-56 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The economies of China and India are growing fast. Neither produces enough power even for existing requirements. And the power that is produced comes largely from the dirtiest, most harmful means possible: burning coal. The situation is unsustainable. Nuclear power is an obvious solution and so probably by 2030, Asia will be home to at least half of the world’s nuclear reactors.
