Chapter 8 in Japanese Hybrid Factories, 2007, pp 196-234 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter the main parts of discussions on the reports at the Teikyo symposium, included in Chapters 1 to 7, are recorded with small editorial adjustments. We chose this way to reproduce as far as possible the real processes of questions and answers at the symposium as we believed that would be an interesting and stimulating way of conveying to readers of this book very vividly the significant points of merits and demerits concerning the overall research results of the JMNESG. This is so important, not only for receiving outside evaluations on the existing research results but also for having a very important opportunity to improve and develop them further by finding out the positive and weak points involved. The discussions, as readers will see, were not always well organized, but we did not try, in the editing process, to reorganize questions and answers so they would be more consistent. It would not be fair to change the contents after the discussions ended.
