A chapter in Big Strategies for Small Business, 2009, pp 97-129 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In the 1980s the Bornholm fishing industry nearly collapsed completely, with all the consequences that go with it. Suddenly what had always worked in the past didn t work anymore. The bigger the enterprise the harder it fell; the smallest operations, however, became the island s link to the future.
