Abstract:
Abstract What do we learn from the half-dozen regimes we have examined about the success and failure of policies and practices for poverty reduction? Combing through the successful and unsuccessful efforts in these regimes, spanning about two centuries, what package of policies and practices can we develop for eliminating the huge volume of poverty that still remains in all categories of nations we have studied and threatens to increase further in some categories or countries?
