Abstract:
Abstract ‘The most difficult job in the Euromarkets’ was Euromoney editor Padraic Fallon’s description of the task that faced chief executive Jeff Cunningham and chairman Lord Sandon, Orion’s new top management team.l Under their leadership, Orion continued as a consortium bank for a further 18 months until Royal Bank bought out the other shareholders. It was not an easy time for anyone involved, because of difficult external economic and market conditions, and internal tensions and strategic dilemmas.
