Chapter 2 in The Spanish Economy in the New Europe, 2000, pp 23-39 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Spain’s objective of convergence with the Community levels of per capita income can only be achieved if its economic growth is more rapid than that of the rest of its EU partners. To accomplish this goal, one almost indispensable condition is to heighten the efficiency of the use of the factors of production or, more precisely, to increase relative productivity.
