Chapter 14 in Social Culture and High-Tech Economic Development, 2006, pp 105-117 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Does anyone here know how to play this game? Our political candidates debate the issues as they see them, with conclusions and recommendations designed not to solve problems but, rather, to avoid offending any constituency. Their “Casper Milquetoast, talk a lot and say nothing,” approach is a forerunner for political careers that will likely be more of the same – trying to make an omelet without breaking any eggs.
