Abstract: Abstract In 1992 the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin commenced a series of conferences on “Computational Economics,” with support from the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the engineering society IEEE. The programs covered a variety of topics on the mutual impact of advances in computation and economics. They are one aspect of the growing interest in computation on the part of scientists of all stripes and disciplines.
