Abstract: Abstract There is a world of talent in a troubled land halfway around the globe, and our tech community is tapping into it. In Russia – despite difficult economic conditions, international banking scandals, the Mafia and renewed fighting in Chechnya – there are thousands of talented technicians and programmers who are either under-employed or out of work. Over the past 20 years, scientists and engineers from the former Soviet Union have emigrated to the US, Canada, Israel and other countries.
