Mode Two: Cooperative Leadership
David J. Wilkinson
Chapter 5 in The Ambiguity Advantage, 2006, pp 86-91 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Mode two leadership scenarios are identifiable by a call for cooperation between the team members. The preoccupation of these leaders and teams is a drive toward teamwork and getting people to work together. Unlike mode one leaders, mode two leaders are interested in and actively seek the opinions of the team. They also promote cooperation with other teams and frequently endorse that they work in cooperation with their customers.
