Abstract:
Abstract The Irish financial system, at the heart of which are credit institutions, has experienced a period of unprecedented expansion and structural change since the mid-1980s. There was a broadening and deepening in the key services provided by banks, both domestic institutions as well as those from other EU countries and from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), in intermediation, deposit taking and money transmission, financial and investment services, and portfolio management and related services.
