Chapter 14 in Macrofoundations of Political Economy and Development, 2007, pp 129-142 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract During the past 500 million years, the natural rate of species extinction was about 100 per 500 years. Under the Dominion of Man the rate is now about 100 per day. In addition, we devour nonrenewable resources without restrain. Franz Broswimmer, in Ecocide (2002), details the dark side of Man Makes Himself. This crucial story comprises the longest chapter in the book.1
