Abstract: Abstract In 2006, Idaho had a population of 1.5 million people, making it the twelfth least populous state in the country. The state’s population increased by 172,512 people from 2000 to 2006, and is projected to increase to 1.9 million by 2025. This 1.24% projected annual growth rate is above the national average of 0.8%. Per capita personal income in Idaho was $29,948 in 2006, up from $28,274 in 2005. For 2006, this was $6,681 below the national average and the eighth lowest in the country. The state’s per capita income grew at an average annual rate of 3.7% from 2000 to 2006, compared to 3.5% nationally.
