Chapter 6 in Sourcing in China, 2006, pp 112-127 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, some topics – introduced in the previous chapters and corresponding to critical issues relating to sourcing in China – will be reconsidered. In the first section, the importance of intermediation and the corresponding changes are pointed out. In the second section, some critical issues linked to the creation of organizational infrastructures in China are underlined. The third section proposes some discussions on cultural aspects characterizing the relationship between the western buyer and the Chinese supplier; these aspects are often important for companies dealing with the eastern reality. Finally, the fourth section proposes some considerations on know-how and technology transfer.
