Collaborating for the future

David E. Hawkins

Chapter Chapter 28 in Corporate Social Responsibility, 2006, pp 245-255 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract There is clearly a challenge for the business community to rationalize its traditional activities against a wider sustainable agenda. It should also be apparent to most that delivering a more sustainable profile requires collaboration across all stakeholders to balance the benefits and competitive edge. Moving further into areas such as eco-efficiency means collaborating across organizational boundaries. From the reverse approach, future business models which are more holistic than hierarchical mean that the relationships between organizations will become a crucial part of delivering sustainable objectives and protecting corporate missions and visions.
