Abstract:
Abstract Exactly two hundred years ago a German polymath wrote a couple of papers in an academic journal on a topic that still provokes passionate debate. His thesis, the antithetical antecedent of Karl Marx was that religious beliefs, not economic forces or the class struggle, lead to wealth creation.
