Money as a motivator
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in Management Mumbo-Jumbo, 2006, pp 92-94 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract The single most frequently asked question of management consultants is about how better to motivate staff. Every manager wants a happy, healthy, but highly productive staff. Ideally they are intrinsically motivated by the sheer joy of the job: but if not, one has to think about extrinsic rewards.
