Employer vs. Product Market Associations: Different Dynamics in Associational Governance?
Franz Traxler
Chapter 16 in The Effectiveness of EU Business Associations, 2002, pp 157-170 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Business is present in manifold markets, with a correspondingly wide range of interests to be pursued there. This raises the question of whether and how this multiplicity of interests translates into differing problems of associational governance. If such differences indeed exist, business associations have to synchronize very carefully the scope of interests represented with their governance capacities, when it comes to ensuring the effectiveness of their activities.
