Abstract For nearly 25 years, I have been professionally involved in European issues, initially as Director General of the European sugar lobby; then as General Secretary of COPA-COGECA, the largest European lobby, for farmers and agricultural cooperatives; finally as General Manager of a consultancy company for European affairs.
