Abstract: Abstract In Chapter 1 we have discussed the inflows of FDI in the context of the emerging global and regional scenario. The existing studies (for example Agenor, 2001; Obstfeld, 1994) have emphasized the role of select economic factors that explain investment flows. This aspect appears to be remarkably weak on some of the important questions that confront nations. There are areas where we have little or no facts but we can deduce how one action may affect another.
