Abstract: Abstract Bank regulators have a unique responsibility for maintaining public confidence in the financial system. The assurance of stability in the financial services industry has become increasingly important with the internationalisation of banking and the rapid advancement of technology. High technology and a shrinking world present enormous opportunities but also amplify the effects of volatility and of exposure.
