Structuring the Regulatory Environment: Examples from the United States
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 4 in New Regulation of the Financial Industry, 2000, pp 63-76 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 3 pressed the point that one of the major goals of regulatory authorities is to preserve business confidence and to promote financial stability. The question then arises: who will benefit from this? And the answer is everybody: consumers as well as the business enterprises and the public authorities. Most of the benefits, however, go to those who are able to learn from every experience.
