Economic Change in Southern Europe: Prospects for Convergence
Heather Gibson
Chapter 1 in Economic Transformation, Democratization and Integration into the European Union, 2001, pp 1-29 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This book is a study of ‘the evolution of specific economies in their particular niche’.2 The study encompasses three Southern European countries, namely Greece, Portugal and Spain. Italy is also considered, although because of certain differences with the other three, it is sometimes fully integrated into the analysis and elsewhere merely used as a point of reference.
