Keeping the show on the road

Chapter Chapter 6 in INSEAD, 2000, pp 131-156 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract In June 1975, the board was informed that Dean Berry did not wish to renew his mandate after August 1976. After a brief tribute to Berry’s accomplishments, the discussion quickly moved on to the profile of his successor. The issue of nationality was uppermost in the minds of many board members. The general view was that the new dean should have an international or, more specifically, a European dimension, but should not be French; and should be capable of speaking two or three languages and be at ease anywhere in Europe.
