Abstract: Abstract e-Choupal is the telecentre-based initiative of the agribusiness division of Indian Tobacco Company (ITC-ABD).1 It is well known as a ‘Bottom of the Pyramid’ venture that demonstrated a ‘win-win’ proposition for both the company and the farmer (Prahalad, 2004). E-Choupals are information kiosks located in the villages. They provide access to agriculture related information and services. And also claim to connect farmers to large firms, current agriculture research and global markets (Upton & Fuller, 2003). This case study is on the e-Choupal located at Pimpri Buti in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, India.
