Chapter 2 in Leadership Therapy, 2007, pp 39-79 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract It promised to be a long, arduous day. The leadership team of one of Microsoft’s online businesses was gathered to present the highly anticipated three-year plan that would outline how they intended to beat their major competitors. The room buzzed with energy as their audience settled into their chairs, an eager crowd of about sixty high-level managers who would be responsible for communicating the plan throughout the company. I sat in the back row. The leaders had asked me to attend their presentation, then meet with the managers separately to find out their honest reaction to what they had heard.
