Chapter 2 in The Globalization of Higher Education, 2012, pp 19-33 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Higher education in England has been under the microscope during the period 2010–2011, with the new coalition Government determined to reduce the public spending deficit, without reducing overall student numbers, university income or international competitiveness. The Government’s white paper ‘Higher education: Students at the heart of the system’ aims to put higher education on a sustainable financial footing, enabling universities and colleges to deliver a better student experience and take more responsibility for social mobility.1
