The dark side of happiness
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in The Engaging Manager, 2012, pp 60-62 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Some serious economists have given in. They want to give up all their really important metrics such as gross national product (GNP), gross domestic product (GDP), and annual average income for GHI: the Gross Happiness Index. The government’s happiness tsar wants to take valuable time out of the school syllabus, where math and science are taught, and have lessons in happiness instead.
