Relationship building
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in The Engaging Manager, 2012, pp 144-146 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Most of us are neither dependent nor independent at work. We are interdependent with others. We work with, through and for them. A simple but powerful definition for leadership is “the ability to choose, motivate and direct a team”. This at its most basic is the capacity to establish healthy working relationships … in both sense of the word: relationships that work at work.
