Abstract: Abstract Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (“Ning” for short) of the PRC is located in northwest China. As part of the Loess Plateau, it is crossed by the Yellow River. It lies along the western part of the Yellow River and is bordered by Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the north and west, Shaanxi Province to the east and Gansu Province to the south. The Great Wall of China runs along its northeastern boundary Home of the Hui people, the region was once a part of the Silk Road that connected China with central Asia and Europe.
